MAKE YOUR DREAM COME TRUE…
The training is designed to learn to fly at night, both theoretically and practically. We will share with you the experience of night flying, talk about the rules of night flying in other European countries, share the experience of planning suitable weather for night flights and advise you on the tools that have worked well for us.
Flying at night is very similar to IFR flying under IMC and therefore this course assumes knowledge of radio navigation, instrument flying using knowledge of IFR flight routes.
To obtain the night rating, the basic training curriculum is 5 hours of flying and 2 hours of theoretical training.
Ground training and theory
Familiarisation with the definition of night, night flight rating, aircraft and airport lighting, night vision, optical illusions, CFIT, night flying techniques, emergency and abnormal procedures.
Local night flight – piloting technique
Practice of night-time piloting techniques: straight flight, changes of speed and configuration, climbing and descending at constant indicated speed, flight at minimum safe speed, power-on stall, power-off stall, normal take-off and climb, circuit flight, approach and landing.
Local night flight – Circuit flying
Circuit flights, normal take-off and climb, circuit flight, approach and landing. Landing without flaps, without headlight, without cabin lighting. At least 5 solo take-offs and landings with a full stop.
Night navigation flight
Night navigation flight, night flight planning, comparative night navigation, radio navigation. Emergency and abnormal procedures at night. Inadvertent entry to IMC and by instrument at night. Flying mostly to Brno, Ostrava or Dresden.
For more information see AIP ENR 2.5
The NIGHT rating is registered by the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) upon completion of the training syllabus without the need for a practical or theoretical examination.
We recommend flying modern IFR aircraft equipped with Garmin 1000. Night training is normally flown with a Cessna 172, but you can also choose any of the aircraft listed below that are certified for night flying.
